First-year students at the College of Engineering and Technology at Al-Mustaqbal University launched a comprehensive awareness campaign titled "Drugs: A Scourge Threatening the Individual and Society," under the supervision of Eng. Sema Mohammed Jawad and Eng. Hussein Muslim Abbas. The campaign aimed to highlight the health and social risks of this phenomenon and took place on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, on the university campus. This campaign was organized with the aim of reinforcing the principles of social responsibility and health awareness, and developing leadership and volunteerism skills among new students, in line with the requirements of quality and excellence in building a conscious and resilient student personality for the 2025-2026 academic year. The campaign included the distribution of informational brochures and the display of educational posters focusing on modern standards in community prevention, while emphasizing the role of youth in combating these toxins, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3 on good health and well-being, according to global quality standards. The campaign saw significant engagement from the university community, featuring awareness-raising discussions on ways to protect the educational environment from harmful behaviors. This provided an opportunity to highlight the role of Technical College students in addressing national issues with intelligence and high professionalism, amid widespread praise from faculty members for the initiative of first-year students. The College Dean’s Office emphasized that organizing these awareness-raising activities contributes to improving institutional performance, reinforcing a culture of commitment to ethical and national values, and ensuring the accuracy of the educational message directed at youth, thereby supporting the achievement of the university’s strategic goals and raising students’ level of social awareness.
