Violence Against Women: A Reading of Numbers and Reality

The Department of Electrical Engineering Technologies at the College of Engineering Technologies, in cooperation with the Sustainability Week Committee, organized a statistical and awareness activity under the supervision of (Teaching Assistant Ali Naji Radhi, Teaching Assistant Haider Karrar Hussein, and Teaching Assistant Suhad Abdul Amir) on Thursday, April 16, 2026, titled: "Violence Against Women: A Reading of Numbers and Reality," under the patronage of the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi. ​The activity highlighted the pivotal role of social and moral awareness, focusing on providing an analytical reading supported by figures and statistics on the phenomenon of violence against women locally and globally. It featured charts illustrating physical, psychological, and economic violence, aiming to foster a preventive culture and build a university and social environment based on solidarity and cooperation. ​This initiative is part of a series of activities organized by Al-Mustaqbal University to enhance social responsibility and highlight the contributions of scientific departments in building a sustainable future. This aligns with the university's strategic vision and the "Sustainability Week" events, reflecting a commitment to developing the moral and cognitive awareness of all staff and students while establishing a culture of respect for human rights and the rejection of all forms of violence. ​The activity, which involved students presenting practical solutions and recommendations, underscored the university's efforts in supporting humanitarian issues and saw great interaction from the attendees in understanding the need to spread legal awareness and support specialized institutions to protect women while strengthening human bonds within the campus and society. ​Al-Mustaqbal University..
