Graduation Research on Fear in Pediatric Dentistry Discussed at College of Dentistry

The College of Dentistry at Al-Mustaqbal University witnessed, on Sunday, 12 April 2026, the discussion of a graduation research entitled “Experience Fear in Pediatric Dentistry,” supervised by the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Athraa Yahya Al-Hijjazi, in the presence of a distinguished group of faculty members. The students presented the research: Qamar Abdulzahra Kati, Zaina Salam Yahya, Rawan Haider Jaafar, Rahaf Wazir Hamadi, Dalia Fadhil Talib, and Fatima Wathiq, addressing the issue of fear among children during dental treatments, which is considered one of the most significant challenges faced by dentists when dealing with pediatric patients. The study highlighted the causes of fear in children, along with the psychological and behavioral factors influencing it. It also reviewed modern approaches for managing such cases, aiming to improve the child’s experience in the dental clinic and enhance treatment success. The discussion featured active scientific engagement from the committee and attendees, with valuable feedback and insights that contributed to enriching the research and strengthening its academic value. At the conclusion of the session, Professor Dr. Athraa Yahya Al-Hijjazi congratulated the students on their outstanding efforts, praising the quality and significance of their work, and wishing them continued success in their academic and professional journeys. The College Deanship emphasized that such research plays an important role in strengthening students’ academic and practical skills, enhancing their research capabilities, and addressing real challenges in dentistry, ultimately contributing to the improvement of the quality of healthcare services provided to the community.
