Violence Against Women and Its Impact on Family Disintegration

As part of the Sustainability Week activities and under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, the Department of Electrical Engineering Technologies at the College of Engineering Technologies, in cooperation with the University's Sustainability Week Committee, organized an awareness and developmental campaign on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. ​The campaign, titled "Violence Against Women and Its Impact on Family Disintegration," was held under the supervision of (Teaching Assistant Ali Naji Radhi, Teaching Assistant Haider Karrar Hussein, and Teaching Assistant Shams Saleem Abbas). ​The campaign highlighted the pivotal role of social and health awareness, focusing on providing educational information about the causes of violence, such as economic and social pressures and differing cultural values. It also explored its dangerous effects leading to the disintegration of the family fabric and the negative psychological impact on children, aiming to foster a preventive culture and build a university environment based on solidarity and cooperation. ​This initiative is part of a series of activities organized by Al-Mustaqbal University to enhance social responsibility and highlight the contributions of scientific departments in building a sustainable future. This aligns with the university's strategic vision and the "Sustainability Week" events, reflecting a commitment to developing the moral awareness of all staff and students while establishing a culture of respect, equality, and protection of the family unit. ​The campaign, which included the distribution of brochures and specialized lectures and workshops, underscored the university's efforts in supporting community initiatives and saw wide interaction from students and staff in spreading noble human values and limiting negative phenomena within the campus. ​Al-Mustaqbal University..
