The College of Dentistry at Al-Mustaqbal University organized a scientific workshop entitled “Physiology of Taste” on Sunday, 5 April 2026, at the College of Dentistry building hall. The workshop was delivered by Eng. Mohammed Fares Jaabaz, in the presence of the Dean of the College of Dentistry and a distinguished group of faculty members, as part of the Continuing Education Program requirements.
The workshop aimed to highlight the physiological foundations of the sense of taste and to explain the biological mechanisms involved in flavor perception, including the role of sensory receptors and neural pathways in transmitting signals to the brain.
The session covered several key scientific topics, including types of taste perception, the functions of taste buds, factors affecting taste efficiency, and its relationship to oral and dental health.
The workshop also witnessed active engagement from attendees through scientific discussions that facilitated the exchange of knowledge and expertise, positively contributing to the enhancement of participants’ academic and professional performance.
The College Deanship emphasized that organizing such scientific workshops reflects its commitment to supporting continuing education programs and keeping pace with advancements in medical sciences, thereby contributing to the improvement of academic and professional standards among faculty members.
