As part of the first day of the “Fourth Al-Mustaqbal International Sustainability Week,” held on Sunday, April 12, 2026, students of the Business Administration Department at the College of Administrative Sciences at Al-Mustaqbal University presented a model project consisting of an integrated engineering design of a “Waste Recycling Plant,” implemented under the direct supervision and follow-up of the Head of the Department, Professor Dr. Amjad Hamid Majid.
The innovative project, showcased at the college’s booth, reflected the students’ vision of transforming environmental challenges into successful investment opportunities. The model included a detailed simulation of:
• Waste Sorting and Processing: Through production lines that distinguish between solid and organic materials.
• Sustainable Logistics: Designing smart transportation routes and green spaces surrounding the plant to reduce emissions.
• Economic Management: Demonstrating how waste can be transformed into financial resources, integrating Business Administration concepts with Sustainable Development Goals.
During his presence at the exhibition platform, Dr. Amjad Hamid Majid emphasized that the department is committed to supporting initiatives that develop practical skills and aim to provide realistic solutions to pollution challenges in Iraqi cities.
This activity aims to promote green entrepreneurship among students and highlight the role of the “sustainable manager” in leading environmentally friendly industrial projects. The project received significant praise from visitors for its precision in execution and the depth of knowledge demonstrated in explaining its economic feasibility.
Through this initiative, the Business Administration Department at Al-Mustaqbal University continues to excel in combining academic learning with social responsibility toward the environment.
