Al-Mustaqbal University Marks World Water Day 2026 with a Focus on Sustainability and Women’s Empowerm

Al-Mustaqbal University, led by Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Magdy, celebrated World Water Day, which falls on March 22 each year, highlighting the importance of freshwater and the need to manage it sustainably. The 2026 events focused on the close relationship between water and the achievement of gender equality. The events included awareness campaigns to promote water conservation, the organization of an international conference on the environment and water, and a community initiative utilizing hydroponics to reduce water consumption, in line with Sustainable Development Goal 6: “Water for All.” The university also focused on empowering women in the water sector through workshops and seminars highlighting women’s role in water resource management, alongside the use of modern technologies in water distribution to achieve sustainability. The events saw broad participation from students and the local community, along with awareness campaigns on social media (#WorldWaterDay) to encourage responsible behaviors in conserving water.
