Al-Mustaqbal University College Celebrates the World Science Day for Peace & Sustainable Development

Under the guardianship of Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, Dean of Al-Mustaqbal University College, a Forum has been organized to celebrate the World Science Day under the slogan<br /><br />“Al-Mustaqbal First Forum to Celebrate World Science Day for Peace & Sustainable Development”<br /><br />It is considerable to note that the 10th of November of every year has been selected by the United Nation for this occasion.<br />Through the various activities of the Forum, there has been much focus on the role played by Science in the development process of society, and the need to involve people in any related discussion due to being quite essential for achieving peace and sustainability of life.<br />The Forum indeed has included lots of scientific and cultural activities, starting with Dr. Tariq Al-Musawi, Head of Research & Studies Unit, who has introduced a summary of the research accomplished by Al-Mustaqbal University College, stating that the Academic Papers published on Scopus have amounted to 1350, in addition to patents, writings, and applied research. There is no doubt that the College Deanship has paid much attention to researchers, encouraging them even financially so that they could come up with the best of their innovative performance.<br />It has been announced as well that Al-Mustaqbal University College has plans to publish “SDJR Sustainable Development Journal Research”. It is going to be a journal specialized in publishing research in English, and in the field of achieving Sustainable Development Goals.<br />Researchers have been honored within five categories: Diamond, Platinum, Gold, Silver & Bronze, all together with the outstanding departments, authors and inventors. They have all been honored with shields and Certificates of Appreciation.<br />The First Dialogue Session of the Forum, being under the title “Everybody shall have Access to Basic Sciences”, has been directed by Prof. Dr. Ammar Al-Husseini who has referred in his introductive speech to several issues related to Human Rights, Intellectual Ownership, Sciences and Learning. It should be noted, however, that prominent personalities have participated in the scientific debates raised during the session including Prof. Dr. Raad Al-Janabi representing the Deputy Minister of Education, Prof. Dr. Falah Al-Qaisi, Dr. Abeer Al-Chalabi, the former Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Mr. Mohsen Al-Farihi, an educational advisor, Prof. Dr. Salam Al-Fatlawi, Vice President of Babylon University for Administrative Affairs, and Major General Iyad Al-Bahrani, a Director at the Ministry of Interior.<br />As for the Second Session, which has been under the title “Mobilizing Science for a Sustainable Future”, it has witnessed three unique lectures. The first lecture has been delivered by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Al-Maamouri in which he talked about Patents, whereas the second lecture, addressing the Medical Sciences and how to be facilitated for serving community, has been given by Prof. Dr. Haidar Kamil Zaidan. The Session has been ended with the third lecture that has been delivered by Dr. Muhammad Al-Bahrani, in which he has focused on Scientific Research & Advanced Sustainable Sciences.<br />The Forum has incorporated other activities, such as the Opening Ceremony of the Scientific Products Exhibit. This Exhibit indeed has included students as well as their teachers’ projects, devices, innovations, books, posters, etc. Besides, a group of children from Al-Nusour Schools have participated in the presentation of the National Anthem that has really well received by the audience. <br />Finally, we are obliged to note that many official and popular personalities have attended the Forum, expressing their admiration for the Festival as well as for the developments that the College has witnessed at all levels.<br /> <br /> <br />
