Head of the Cybersecurity Department, Professor Ali Kadhim Mohammed Al-Gharabi, Participates in a Master’s Thesis Seminar on Data Collection via Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) Professor Ali Kadhim Mohammed Al-Gharabi, Head of the Cybersecurity Department, participated as a committee member and supervisor in a pre-thesis master’s seminar for postgraduate student Sabreen Talib Askar at the College of Science for Women, University of Babylon. The seminar focused on her research, titled: "Clustering Strategies and Path Planning for Energy-Efficient Data Collection Using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) in Wireless Sensor Networks." The session was attended by co-supervisor Assistant Professor Ahmed Mohammed Hussein. The seminar committee was chaired by Professor Majid Jabbar Jawad, with members Professor Mahdi Abd Salman and Professor Mohammed Obeid Mahdi. The seminar featured a comprehensive overview of the research, which explores innovative strategies to enhance operational efficiency and energy management in wireless sensor networks. The study utilizes advanced clustering algorithms and selects cluster heads based on residual energy and node longevity. Furthermore, it develops path-planning mechanisms for UAVs to avoid obstacles, minimize battery consumption, and reduce data transmission latency—all of which contribute directly to extending the network's lifespan and enhancing its stability. At the conclusion of the session, Professor Ali Kadhim Al-Gharabi and the esteemed committee members provided a range of scientific guidance and valuable academic feedback, aimed at enriching the practical aspects of the thesis and further developing its findings.
