As part of the scientific and practical activities aimed at developing the technical skills of students in the Department of Electrical Engineering Technologies at the College of Engineering Technologies, Al-Mustaqbal University, a specialized scientific workshop titled "Operating a Three-Phase Motor on a Single-Phase Supply" was held today, Wednesday, November 4, 2026, presented by: Eng. Ali Naji Radi Eng. Murtadha Abbas Eidan Eng. Maha Muhammad Shwaish The workshop encompassed theoretical and practical tracks covering the mechanism of operating three-phase electric motors using a single-phase supply. It reviewed the correct engineering wiring methods, the selection and usage of capacitors, and the fundamental operating principles of the motor, while placing strong emphasis on the electrical safety procedures required during laboratory and field operations. The workshop aimed to enhance the technical and practical capabilities of the participants, reinforce hands-on learning in electrical engineering and machines, and bridge theoretical concepts with direct laboratory experiments. The session concluded by highlighting the importance of continuing to organize these specialized practical events due to their active role in raising student efficiency and preparing them to meet the demands of the engineering job market.
