As part of Al-Mustaqbal University's commitment to promoting humanitarian values and fostering a culture of peace and tolerance within the university community, the Civil Engineering Department at the College of Engineering organized an awareness activity on the occasion of the International Day of Peace, on November 1, 2026. The activity aimed to raise awareness of the importance of peace and peaceful coexistence while promoting values of love, cooperation, and mutual respect among students. The activity highlighted the importance of tolerance, acceptance of others, and rejecting violence and discrimination. It also encouraged students to embrace constructive dialogue and adopt positive behaviors that contribute to creating a university environment characterized by understanding and mutual respect. Furthermore, it emphasized the vital role of young people as a fundamental pillar in building a safe and stable society based on cooperation and peaceful coexistence. The activity was conducted under the supervision of the Head of the Civil Engineering Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Mayada Waheed Falah, with the participation of faculty members Assistant Lecturer Saif Salam Saud and Assistant Lecturer Zahraa Hussein Mohammed, alongside a number of department students. This activity aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, by promoting a culture of peace and justice, fostering the values of tolerance and dialogue, and contributing to building safe and inclusive societies based on mutual respect and the rejection of violence and discrimination.
