As part of the scientific activities aimed at enhancing students’ research and academic skills, a theoretical lecture in the Crops course, supervised by Lecturer Assistant Mr. Raad Talal Touman, included a student scientific activity involving the preparation and presentation of specialized scientific reports. The students presented their reports through classroom presentations, providing an opportunity to discuss the topics and exchange scientific information.
The reports covered several topics related to crops, medicinal plants, and plant diseases, as follows:
- Extraction of Oils from Rosemary: Presented by student Tuqa Nabil, discussing the methods of extracting plant oils and their importance.
- Tomato Mosaic Virus: Presented by student Ahmed Rashid, highlighting the disease, its significance, and its effects on tomato crops.
- Tomato Crop: Presented by student Abdul Khaliq Abdul Kadhim, covering the main scientific aspects of the crop and its agricultural importance.
This activity aims to develop an interactive learning environment and encourage students to conduct research and consult scientific references. It also contributes to improving their skills in report writing, academic presentations, public speaking, and scientific discussion, thereby strengthening their self-confidence and linking theoretical knowledge with scientific applications and real agricultural practices.
