The Department of Building and Construction Engineering Technologies at the Engineering Technical College, Al-Mustaqbal University, held its third Department Council meeting for the 2026–2027 academic year on Monday, 2 November 2026. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Tareq Jawad Kazem, Head of the Department, and attended by members of the Department Council, faculty members, and laboratory supervisors. The meeting addressed several academic, administrative, and organizational issues. It began with welcoming Prof. Dr. Hakim Saeed Mohammed as a new member of the department's academic staff. Discussions also covered updating the structures of the main and subcommittees and defining their duties and responsibilities, as well as reviewing the department's scientific activities and events and the proposed implementation plan for the academic year. The Council further reviewed the progress of midterm examinations and the challenges associated with them, the current condition and readiness of laboratories and their requirements, and the mechanisms for selecting graduation projects, assigning them to students and supervisors, and monitoring their progress through the various stages of completion. The meeting also emphasized the importance of adhering to official working hours, academic schedules, teaching and administrative responsibilities, and allocated lecture times to ensure the achievement of educational objectives. In addition, other topics and proposals related to improving the department's academic and administrative operations were discussed. This meeting reflects the Department's commitment to monitoring academic and administrative performance, strengthening coordination among faculty members and academic and administrative committees, and improving the quality of the educational process in line with the requirements of the 2026–2027 academic year.
