The Head of the Department of Media at the College of Arts and Humanities at Al-Mustaqbal University, Assistant Professor Dr Akram Faraj Al-Rubaie, participated as a representative of the deans of media colleges and heads of media departments at private universities in an expanded meeting between the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Committee of Deans of Media Colleges in Iraq. The meeting was held on Sunday evening, 1 November 2026, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Baghdad. During the meeting, the Minister emphasised the strategic and pivotal role of media in guiding and raising awareness within society. He also highlighted the significant responsibility borne by media colleges and specialised departments in supplying the national media sector with qualified graduates and preparing professional media personnel equipped with the technical and academic knowledge needed to keep pace with digital transformations in the modern journalism landscape. The participation of the Head of the Department of Media as a representative of private universities reflects Al-Mustaqbal University’s strategic vision of contributing to the formulation of educational policies and strengthening its partnership with the Ministry. This collaboration aims to develop curricula and academic mechanisms in ways that enhance academic performance and promote the production of journalistic content that adheres to professional and ethical standards.
