In line with promoting scientific awareness of modern medical technologies in clinical diagnosis, the Department of Radiological Technologies highlights the essential role of medical imaging in the early detection of strokes through a scientific topic presented by Assist. Lecturer Murtadha Abdul Amir. The presentation addressed the importance of medical imaging in facilitating rapid diagnosis, identifying the type and location of brain injury, and supporting timely clinical decision-making. It explored the role of Computed Tomography (CT) as a primary and rapid imaging modality in the initial assessment of stroke, particularly in differentiating between ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes. It also highlighted the importance of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), especially Diffusion-Weighted Imaging (DWI), in detecting early brain tissue changes associated with ischemia. Furthermore, the presentation discussed the significance of CT Angiography (CTA) and Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA) in evaluating cerebral blood vessels and identifying vascular occlusions and stenosis, supporting diagnostic accuracy and appropriate treatment planning. This scientific contribution emphasizes the continuous advancement of medical imaging technologies and the vital role of radiological technology professionals in supporting accurate diagnosis, timely medical intervention, and improved patient outcomes.
