As part of its efforts to enhance technical knowledge and establish fundamental concepts in cybersecurity, the Cybersecurity Technologies Engineering Department at Al-Mustaqbal University presents an educational guide entitled “The World of Networking,” which introduces key networking concepts and their importance in building a solid foundation for students in the field. The guide highlights the concept of computer networks, the differences between Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN), the role of Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, the functions of routers and switches, the seven layers of the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model, and the concept of bandwidth. This initiative aims to simplify technical information and raise awareness of networking and data communication fundamentals, contributing to the development of students’ skills and their understanding of networking technologies and their applications in digital protection. This initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.
