The Cybersecurity Engineering Technologies Department at Al-Mustaqbal University organized an awareness campaign aimed at promoting digital security awareness and highlighting the risks associated with using external storage devices (USBs) from unknown sources, which may pose a threat to device security and personal data. The campaign included a set of educational guidelines emphasizing the importance of avoiding untrusted USB devices, scanning files before opening them, regularly updating security software, and maintaining backup copies of important data. These measures contribute to reducing the risks of malware infections and information theft while promoting a culture of safe and responsible use of digital technologies. This initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and Goal 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), reaffirming the Department’s commitment to promoting digital safety awareness and strengthening cybersecurity knowledge among students and the wider community. Al-Mustaqbal University is the first among Iraqi private universities.
