Almustaqbal University celebrated its achievements in global rankings during an academic event dedicated to reviewing and analysing academic and research performance indicators. The event also explored ways to expand international relations, strengthen the University’s competitiveness, and support institutional sustainability. The event was attended by the University President, Professor Dr. Hasan Shaker Majdi, alongside vice presidents, college deans, department and division directors, and faculty and staff members. In his remarks, the University President highlighted that these achievements reflect strategic planning and coordinated academic, research, and administrative efforts. He commended the contributions of university personnel and emphasized the importance of advancing scientific research, publishing in reputable journals, expanding international partnerships, and using performance indicators to identify priorities and guide continuous improvement. The programme featured presentations by Professor Dr. Abbas Al-Bawi, Vice President for Student and Educational Affairs; Professor Dr. Muzafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision; Professor Dr. Tariq Jawad Kadhim, Director of Scientific Affairs; and Ali Abbas Zwain, Director of the International Rankings Unit. The presentations examined achieved results, institutional strengths, opportunities for improvement, and approaches to strengthening the University’s position in international rankings. Among the achievements highlighted during the event were the University’s leading position among Iraqi private universities in the 2026 UI GreenMetric sustainability ranking and its first appearance in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2027 in the 1201–1400 band worldwide, alongside strong results in research and subject rankings. The event concluded by emphasizing the need to translate performance analysis into measurable action plans, strengthen coordination across university units, and expand international academic and research cooperation.
