The Legal Unit at the College of Education, Al-Mustaqbal University, held a legal awareness seminar for students on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, entitled “The Authority of Individuals to Arrest Persons under Iraqi Law.” The seminar was delivered by Lecturer Assistant Ali Ayed Al-Zuhairi, a faculty member at the college, with the aim of raising students’ legal awareness and familiarizing them with relevant legislative provisions. The seminar addressed the circumstances in which Iraqi law permits individuals to arrest persons, in accordance with the provisions of the Iraqi Code of Criminal Procedure. It also highlighted the legal regulations governing the exercise of this right in a manner that contributes to protecting rights and freedoms, maintaining social security, and preserving public order. The seminar emphasized the importance of promoting legal awareness among students and familiarizing them with their rights and duties, thereby enhancing their understanding of their legal and social responsibilities and fostering respect for the law and its implementation.
