As part of its efforts to strengthen international cooperation and expand engagement with leading global academic institutions, Al-Mustaqbal University held a virtual meeting with Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in the United States to discuss prospects for scientific and academic collaboration and explore opportunities to develop joint postgraduate programs and professional certifications, contributing to enhanced educational quality and the development of academic and professional skills. The meeting was attended by Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University; Professor Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision; Professor Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd, Dean of the College of Engineering Technologies; Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Shakir Majdi, Dean of the College of Engineering; as well as several department heads from the colleges and relevant officials at the university presidency. Representatives responsible for scientific and academic cooperation at Virginia Commonwealth University also participated, along with Dr. Hussein Al-Sheikh from the Iraqi Attaché Office in Washington, D.C. The meeting addressed several proposed areas of cooperation, including master's degree programs, the possibility of hosting academic programs at Al-Mustaqbal University, short-term professional certifications, and specialized training programs. These initiatives would enable both institutions to benefit from each other's academic expertise and resources while providing valuable opportunities for students and faculty members. The participants also exchanged views on the requirements for implementing the proposed programs and the mechanisms for developing them in accordance with recognized academic standards. They emphasized the importance of examining the available options and identifying the most feasible areas of cooperation as a preliminary step toward establishing practical measures to transform these proposals into productive and sustainable partnerships.
