Dr. Aseel Safi, a faculty member, conducted a field visit to a water complex in Babil Governorate as part of the requirements for preparing a case study titled “The Impact of Power Outages on the Operation of Water Treatment and Pumping Stations and the Feasibility of Using Renewable Energy as a Sustainable Solution.”
The visit included reviewing data on power outage periods and studying their impact on the plant’s operational efficiency and water production and pumping rates, as well as recording field observations and documenting the necessary data to be used in preparing the case study and analyzing its results.
This visit is part of efforts to strengthen practical and research-based approaches and to highlight the importance of adopting renewable energy sources as sustainable solutions that help mitigate the impact of power outages and ensure the continuity of water treatment and pumping services, thereby supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
