As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen its academic and research standing, Al-Mustaqbal University organized a specialized scientific event on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, to highlight its achievements in global rankings, analyze scientific and academic performance indicators, and discuss strategies for developing international cooperation, enhancing competitiveness, and promoting institutional sustainability. The event was attended by the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, the University Assistants to the President, Deans of Colleges, Directors of Departments and Divisions, as well as a number of academic and administrative staff members. The event highlighted the importance of collaborative institutional work and adopting a continuous development approach. The University President emphasized that the achievements reflect effective strategic planning and the integration of scientific, academic, and administrative efforts. He praised the university staff for their role in achieving these results and stressed the importance of advancing scientific research, increasing publications in reputable academic journals, expanding international partnerships, and utilizing performance indicators to establish priorities and develop improvement plans. The event featured specialized presentations delivered by Prof. Dr. Abbas Al-Bawi, Assistant President for Student Affairs and Educational Affairs; Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision; Prof. Dr. Tariq Jawad Kadhim, Director of the Scientific Affairs Department; and Ali Abbas Zuwain, Head of the Global Rankings Unit. The presentations reviewed key achievements, performance indicators, strengths, and development opportunities, as well as strategies to enhance the university’s presence in international rankings. The presentations highlighted several notable achievements, including Al-Mustaqbal University’s first-place ranking among private Iraqi universities in the 2026 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings for Sustainability. The university also made its first appearance in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2027, securing a position in the 1201–1400 global band, alongside its advanced results in research-based and subject-specific rankings. The event concluded by emphasizing the importance of translating performance analysis into clear, measurable action plans, strengthening integration across university departments and colleges, and expanding international academic and research cooperation.
