To support applied scientific research and enhance environmental and technical awareness, the Department of Fuel and Energy Engineering Technologies organized a comprehensive field study entitled "The Importance of Solar Energy and Its Role in the Transition Toward Sustainable Energy," which took place on October 14, 2026, under the supervision of Head of Department Dr. Ammar Abdul-Kadhim Fathi, and with active participation from Mr. Abdulkhaliq. The field activity featured the distribution of scientific survey questionnaires among students, carefully designed to evaluate awareness and interest in solar energy technologies. The study aimed to analyze participants' perspectives and proposals on adopting clean energy solutions and improving energy efficiency, creating an engaging academic dialogue between faculty and students. This initiative serves as a practical contribution toward Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by involving students in scientific research methodologies and field applications, as well as Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) by highlighting the strategic value of renewable energy sources for a sustainable future. The field campaign witnessed remarkable engagement and active participation from the students, who expressed great enthusiasm in completing the survey forms and sharing their insights, commending the role of such field activities in enhancing their research and analytical capabilities. This effort reinforces the department and university's commitment to fostering academic and field initiatives that prepare future engineers equipped with research tools to meet evolving energy challenges.
