Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, Al-Mustaqbal University launched the activities of Erasmus Days 2026, with the participation of the University President’s Assistants, College Deans, the Director of Academic and Scientific Supervision, as well as the directors of departments and divisions at the University Presidency. This initiative comes within the framework of the University’s efforts to strengthen international academic cooperation and expand partnership opportunities with European universities and educational institutions. The activities included an introductory workshop presented by Ms. Ilaf Salah Mahdi, Head of the Erasmus Unit at the University Presidency. During the workshop, she outlined the nature of Erasmus programmes and their importance in developing the higher education system, highlighting their role in supporting academic and professional capacity building, developing scientific and digital skills, and enhancing academic exchange and mobility opportunities for students, teaching staff, and researchers. The workshop also addressed the main areas of cooperation available through these programmes and the mechanisms for benefiting from training and development opportunities, as well as exchanging expertise and academic practices among educational institutions. These activities are part of the international Erasmus Days 2026 initiative, held under the slogan “Learning and Growing: Skills for Tomorrow,” reflecting the importance of investing in future skills, keeping pace with the rapid transformations in the higher education sector, and enhancing the capabilities of academic and administrative staff in line with the requirements of sustainable development and scientific, technological, and knowledge advancement. Through organizing these activities, Al-Mustaqbal University reaffirms its commitment to promoting academic internationalization, developing its relations with international educational institutions, and providing valuable opportunities for learning, training, and scientific exchange.
