Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Shakir Majdi, the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the College of Engineering, Al-Mustaqbal University, held a meeting of its Industry Advisory Board. The meeting was chaired by the Head of the Department, Professor Dr. Ibrahim Abdullah Mardas, and attended by board members and representatives of relevant organizations. The meeting discussed several strategic issues related to developing the academic program and enhancing the quality of its outcomes. These included the requirements for engineering program accreditation, updating the curriculum to keep pace with rapid scientific and technological developments in biomedical engineering, and identifying the professional skills and competencies graduates need to meet labor market requirements. The Board also emphasized the importance of expanding partnerships and cooperation with healthcare and industrial institutions and employers, and of drawing on their views and expertise to assess and improve the program’s outcomes. This would strengthen the program’s practical and applied components and better prepare students and graduates to enter the professional workplace. The meeting concluded with several key recommendations, including continuing to update academic content, enhancing practical and field training, expanding cooperation with healthcare and industrial institutions, and directly aligning learning outcomes with labor market needs. These measures would support compliance with engineering program accreditation requirements and promote continuous improvement in the quality of the academic program. The meeting reflects the College of Engineering at Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to promoting a culture of quality and continuous improvement and strengthening integration between academia and the workplace.
