Prof. Dr. Mujbil Rafiq Marjan, a faculty member in the Department of Business Administration at the College of Administrative Sciences, Al-Mustaqbal University, participated in the intellectual programme of the 13th Babylon International Festival of Cultures and Arts by delivering a scholarly cultural and historical address entitled “Hillah: Authenticity and Heritage.” The event attracted a distinguished audience, including the College Dean, the Head of the Department, and a gathering of intellectuals, academics, and researchers. In his address, delivered at the festival’s historic archaeological venue, Prof. Dr. Mujbil Rafiq Marjan highlighted the profound cultural and intellectual connection with the city of Hillah, describing it as a rich repository of heritage, literature, and human civilisation. He drew on the scholarly legacy and intellectual contributions of prominent figures from the Hillah school of thought, particularly Allama Al-Hilli, Al-Muhaqqiq Al-Hilli, and Ibn Tawus. He called upon emerging researchers at Al-Mustaqbal University, particularly those in the Department of Business Administration, to embrace their responsibility to explore ancestral heritage, critically edit manuscripts, and verify historical texts. Prof. Marjan also discussed the importance of engaging thoughtfully with contemporary developments and Western civilisation while preserving cultural identity and authentic values. He concluded by expressing his deep appreciation to the festival’s organising committee for its role in fostering pride in the history of Iraqi cities and documenting their cultural and intellectual achievements. This distinguished participation underscores the leading role of the Department of Business Administration’s academic staff in enriching cultural and community engagement. It also contributes to raising awareness of national identity and strengthening Al-Mustaqbal University’s academic reputation as Iraq’s leading private university and an institution represented in internationally recognised university rankings.
