Al-Mustaqbal University expanded its international academic and professional engagement through the participation of its President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, in the Global Energy and Innovation Exhibition and Forum, GOTECH 2026, held in Dubai. The participation aimed to strengthen students’ opportunities to connect with international institutions and explore the latest technological and professional developments in the energy sector. During the event, a meeting was held with representatives of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) – Khalifa University Chapter, where the participants discussed opportunities for cooperation and the development of communication channels with international professional and academic networks. These discussions aimed to establish strategic partnerships that would enhance students’ academic knowledge and practical experience. The meetings also explored ways to expand students’ opportunities to participate in international conferences and specialized forums, gain exposure to the latest innovations and technologies in the energy industry, and access professional training and development opportunities offered by leading global companies, including Oilserv, Schlumberger (SLB), and Dragon Oil. These initiatives seek to strengthen the connection between academic programs and the evolving demands of the labor market. This participation reflects the university’s commitment to advancing its educational system through international engagement and cooperation with specialized institutions and companies. Such efforts contribute to preparing graduates with the technical skills and practical experience required to compete in local and international labor markets. These initiatives align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
