In recognition of Babylon’s historical and cultural significance and its rich human heritage, which has left an enduring mark on the history of civilizations, the ancient city is hosting the 13th Babylon International Festival of Cultures and Arts under the slogan “We Are All Babylonians.” The festival brings together a distinguished group of artists, intellectuals, and writers from Iraq and various countries around the world, in a cultural scene that brings together the authenticity of the past and the creativity of the present. As part of its commitment to preserving Iraq’s cultural identity and promoting artistic and literary activities, Al-Mustaqbal University is participating as the Gold Sponsor of the festival, reaffirming its role in supporting initiatives that make culture a bridge for communication among peoples and contribute to highlighting the cultural significance of Iraqi cities, particularly Babylon, one of the most prominent witnesses to the greatness of human history. The festival continues until 16 October 2026, featuring a rich programme of cultural and artistic activities, including an international book fair, fine arts exhibitions, poetry readings, intellectual and cultural seminars, as well as theatrical, musical, and artistic performances. These activities provide participants and audiences with opportunities to interact, exchange ideas and expertise, and open broader horizons for creative talents to showcase their works and experiences. This sponsorship aligns with Al-Mustaqbal University’s vision of supporting community activities that promote cultural awareness, encourage creativity, preserve cultural heritage, and reinforce the values of dialogue, openness, and mutual understanding among cultures. This initiative also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4: Quality Education, Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, including the preservation of cultural heritage, and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals. Through this participation, Al-Mustaqbal University continues to contribute to supporting Iraq’s cultural scene, guided by its belief that the role of universities extends beyond education and scientific research to include promoting culture and the arts and strengthening society’s connection to its history and cultural identity. This further reinforces its standing as Al-Mustaqbal University, the first-ranked private university in Iraq.
