Research Plan Follow-Up Strengthens Scientific Production Pathways at the College of Technical Engineering

The College of Technical Engineering – Scientific Affairs Division strengthened its efforts to monitor and develop scientific research pathways on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, by holding a meeting with research plan members from the scientific departments. The meeting aimed to review the latest developments in the research plan for the 2026–2027 academic year and assess achievement rates and progress in implementing planned and published research. The meeting was chaired by the Head of the Scientific Affairs Division at the College of Technical Engineering, Assist. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Maytham Obaid, with the participation of Assist. Lecturer Naba Thamer Ali, a member of the Scientific Affairs Division, and research plan members from the scientific departments. The meeting reviewed the main components of the research plan and discussed the stages of implementation according to the approved timelines. The meeting addressed mechanisms for monitoring planned and published research, reviewing research achievement rates, and regularly updating research-related data and information. This contributes to establishing an accurate research database that reflects the level of scientific activity across the academic departments. The participants also discussed the importance of strengthening coordination between the Scientific Affairs Division and research plan members in the departments, monitoring research progress, addressing potential obstacles to implementation, and emphasizing compliance with the approved regulations and guidelines for documenting and monitoring scientific output. The College of Technical Engineering – Scientific Affairs Division emphasized the importance of continuing regular meetings to monitor the research plan, given their role in enhancing the quality of scientific research, raising the level of scientific production, and encouraging faculty members and researchers to increase their research output and publish in reputable scientific journals and international indexing databases. The meeting also emphasized the need to improve the quality of research data and continuously update it, as well as monitor research from the planning stage through publication, in a manner that ensures the achievement of the research plan's indicators and enhances the scientific and academic performance of the departments. This follow-up reflects the College of Technical Engineering's commitment to developing the research environment, advancing knowledge production, and promoting a culture of research and innovation, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.
