The Civil Engineering Department at the College of Engineering, Al-Mustaqbal University, organized a promotional and introductory activity in the Registration Hall, targeting sixth-year preparatory students interested in learning more about Civil Engineering and its academic and professional pathways.
The activity included an engaging and simplified introduction to the nature of study in the Civil Engineering Department and its major fields, including structural design and construction, highway and bridge engineering, water resources engineering, infrastructure, and other related disciplines. It also highlighted the vital role of civil engineers in developing cities and implementing future engineering projects.
The activity also featured models and visual presentations of engineering projects and practical applications, in addition to an overview of the department’s laboratories, practical education, and field visits, which provide students with opportunities to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world engineering practice. This initiative reflects the department’s commitment to preparing engineers equipped with the knowledge, practical skills, and competencies required to meet the evolving demands of the labor market.
The activity was attended by Assistant Lecturer Lina Hussein Ali, Assistant Lecturer Zahraa Hussein Mohammed, and Assistant Lecturer Farah Hamid Abdulkhudr, along with a number of Civil Engineering students. The participating students contributed by sharing their university experiences and answering visitors’ questions, helping prospective students gain a clearer understanding of university life, the nature of Civil Engineering, and the future opportunities available to graduates.
The activity aimed to raise awareness of Civil Engineering as a promising academic and professional field, encourage students to choose a specialization aligned with their scientific interests and future aspirations, and highlight the role of civil engineers in achieving sustainable development and serving society.
