Flight simulators have become one of the most important technologies used in pilot training, providing an advanced training environment that simulates real flight conditions without exposing the pilot or aircraft to potential risks. These systems combine principles of mechanics and aerospace engineering with virtual reality and computer technologies to create an experience that closely resembles actual flight. Flight simulators operate through mathematical and physical models that reproduce aircraft motion and its response to pilot commands. When the pilot moves the control stick or pedals, mechanical and electronic systems calculate the effects of these commands on the aircraft’s direction, speed, and altitude. The results are then displayed immediately within a three-dimensional virtual environment. This allows trainees to understand the relationship between the movement of control surfaces and the forces of lift, drag, thrust, and weight during flight. Virtual reality technologies contribute to increasing the realism of training by providing visual environments that simulate airports, cities, mountains, clouds, and various weather conditions. Simulators can also recreate emergency situations, such as engine failure, reduced visibility, and atmospheric turbulence. This gives pilots the opportunity to practice making appropriate decisions and handling critical situations within a safe environment. The role of simulators is not limited to beginners; they are also used to develop the skills of experienced pilots and to conduct regular training on operational procedures and emergency situations. In addition, simulators help reduce training costs, fuel consumption, and the operating hours of real aircraft, while allowing training scenarios to be repeated several times until the required skill is mastered. The integration of mechanics, virtual reality, and advanced computing represents an important step toward improving pilot training. It combines engineering accuracy with visual and interactive experiences, making simulation systems an essential tool for preparing pilots who are better able to handle different flight conditions and make effective decisions with a high level of safety.
