As part of the Civil Engineering Department’s commitment at the College of Engineering, Al-Mustaqbal University, to strengthening practical learning and connecting academic knowledge with real-world engineering applications, a field visit was organized on June 10, 2026, for a group of second-year Civil Engineering students to an ongoing construction project consisting of a five-story commercial building, designed by Lecturer Dr. Uday Hamza Hamoud Al-Maamouri. The visit aimed to familiarize students with the practical aspects of construction project implementation, while highlighting the importance of sustainable materials and their integration into construction processes. This experience contributes to enhancing students’ understanding of modern engineering practices and sustainability requirements in the construction sector. The field tour included observing the various stages of project implementation and its structural components, as well as discussing several technical and engineering aspects at the construction site. Students also gained insights into the roles and responsibilities of civil engineers on site and the mechanisms for supervising and implementing construction works in accordance with engineering requirements. This visit is part of the scientific and practical activities organized by the Civil Engineering Department to broaden students’ knowledge and develop their practical skills, while strengthening their ability to connect the concepts learned in classrooms with real-world applications at construction sites.
