The Engineering Technical College at Al-Mustaqbal University launched a preparatory meeting today, Monday, October 5, 2026, at 12:00 noon, to introduce the Students’ Union – Engineering Technical College Students’ Union initiative. The initiative aims to strengthen students’ role in university life and develop their skills in leadership, initiative, teamwork, innovation, and student representation.
The initiative was launched under the direction and supervision of the Dean of the Engineering Technical College, Prof. Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd, as part of the College’s commitment to benefiting from the experience of students who participated in the training program at the University of West London and utilizing this experience to develop an active student environment that enables students to participate in creating initiatives and university activities.
The meeting was attended by the activity coordinators from all scientific departments, along with a number of distinguished and active students who have an interest in participating in student initiatives, activities, and leadership. The meeting aimed to discuss mechanisms for establishing the Students’ Union and developing a student team capable of presenting ideas and initiatives and serving their fellow students.
The meeting included an introduction to the concept and objectives of the Students’ Union, a presentation of the experience of students who participated at the University of West London, and a discussion on the possibility of implementing the experience at the Engineering Technical College. It also provided an opportunity to hear students’ ideas and proposals, in addition to forming the founding team of the Students’ Union and outlining the initial steps for implementing the project.
The initiative aims to create an effective space for student participation, develop students’ skills, support student clubs and initiatives, and strengthen communication among students, academic departments, and the College Deanship. This contributes to building university students who are capable of leadership, responsibility, and teamwork.
The founding team of the initiative adopts the slogan Learn – Lead – Train – Inspire, reflecting the vision of preparing students who possess knowledge and leadership capabilities, while encouraging them to share their experiences and inspire others.
The College encouraged students who possess leadership spirit, initiative, the ability to work as part of a team, and a desire to serve their peers and create a positive impact within the university environment to actively participate in the initiative. This supports the College’s vision of developing a generation of students capable of innovation and leadership.
The initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through developing students’ skills and enhancing their participation and collaboration within the university environment.
