Engineering Technical College Enhances Academic Recognition with Scientific Presentations Enriching Students’ Knowledge

The Engineering Technical College at Al-Mustaqbal University enhanced academic recognition with purposeful scientific presentations during the ceremony honoring top-performing students for the 2025–2026 academic year. The event was held today, Monday, October 5, 2026, at the Conference Hall in the Engineering Building, with the aim of enriching students’ knowledge, developing their skills, and linking academic learning with practical application and scientific research. The ceremony, held as part of the Engineering Technical College’s commitment to combining recognition, motivation, education, and practical application, featured a number of scientific presentations that contributed to broadening students’ scientific perspectives and providing them with opportunities to explore practical and research-based models that reinforce the knowledge they acquire throughout their academic journey. Prof. Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd, Dean of the Engineering Technical College, was keen to include scientific activities that contribute to enriching students’ knowledge and enhancing their abilities in thinking, research, and practical application, alongside recognizing academic excellence. The ceremony included a scientific presentation delivered by Dr. Silwan on the feasibility of students’ projects. He highlighted the importance of practical projects in transforming theoretical knowledge into practical applications, as well as their role in developing students’ skills in critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving, while linking their academic outcomes to labor market requirements and technological developments. Dr. Mohammed Maytham also delivered a scientific presentation on a number of his research studies and their significance. He addressed the importance of scientific research and its role in generating knowledge and providing scientific and technological solutions, enabling students to explore examples of research work and benefit from them in developing their scientific and research orientations. The Dean emphasized that delivering knowledge to students is not limited to classroom lectures, but is further enhanced through dialogue, scientific presentations, and the presentation of experiences, projects, and research. He praised the efforts of the teaching staff in delivering knowledge through approaches that contribute to developing students’ capabilities and motivating them to think, conduct research, and apply their knowledge. The Dean also praised the distinguished academic performance achieved by the top-performing students, emphasizing that their excellence represents the outcome of diligence and perseverance, in addition to the academic support and guidance provided by the teaching staff. He called on the students to utilize the knowledge and skills they have acquired to continue their journey toward excellence and innovation. This event is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, by promoting scientific knowledge, research, practical application, and the development of students’ skills in ways that contribute to preparing them to serve society and the labor market. Al-Mustaqbal University is ranked first among private universities in Iraq.
