Al-Mustaqbal University has achieved a new global milestone by appearing for the first time in the *Times Higher Education* World University Rankings 2027 (THE WUR 2027)—one of the most prestigious global university rankings. Ranked in the 1201–1400 band globally, this achievement reflects the university's advancing academic and research performance and its growing international presence. The ranking encompassed 2,297 universities across 118 countries and regions; within this context, Al-Mustaqbal University secured second place among Iraqi universities outside the Kurdistan Region—and fourth place when including universities from the region—while also ranking first among Iraq’s private universities. The *Times Higher Education* ranking relies on a set of international indicators and criteria that measure university performance across key areas—including teaching, research environment, research quality, industry engagement, and international outlook—thereby providing a comprehensive assessment of academic and research performance. Regarding specific ranking indicators, Al-Mustaqbal University ranked second in Iraq for "International Outlook," fifth for "Research Environment," and sixth for "Research Quality." These results reflect the development of its academic and research ecosystem, its scientific activity, and the expansion of its international academic collaborations and partnerships. On this occasion, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, congratulated the faculty, staff, and students on this achievement, commending the sustained efforts of the university’s academic, administrative, and research units that contributed to securing this position in global rankings. The University President emphasized that this achievement is the result of concerted efforts across education, scientific research, academic publishing, and international cooperation, alongside continuous work to enhance institutional performance and the quality of the educational and research environment.
