Prof. Dr. Mahdi Abadi Manea, Head of the Intelligent Medical Systems Department at the College of Science and Director of the Future Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications at Al-Mustaqbal University, participated on Sunday, October 4, 2026, in the first day of the First Conference of the Arab Network of Research Centers, held at the National Research Centre in Cairo, Egypt, with broad participation from leaders of research centers, experts, and representatives of scientific institutions from various Arab countries. Prof. Dr. Mahdi Abadi Manea’s participation in this Arab scientific gathering reflects his commitment to strengthening research communication and expanding opportunities for scientific cooperation with Arab and international research centers and institutions, particularly in the fields of artificial intelligence, scientific research, innovation, and emerging technologies. The first day of the conference brought together representatives from approximately ten Arab countries and more than 76 research centers, in addition to several international institutions specializing in scientific research, rankings, and data analytics, including Elsevier and Clarivate. The conference sessions addressed a number of topics related to advancing scientific research and enhancing the competitiveness of Arab research centers. The conference program included a lecture entitled “Arab Ranking of Research Centers,” delivered by Prof. Dr. Yasser Refaat, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education for Planning, Governance, and Scientific Research Policies and Applications, with the participation of Dr. Mohamed El-Aisali, Vice President of Analytical Services and Data at Elsevier. The lecture addressed recent trends in evaluating research center performance and enhancing their position in scientific rankings. The conference also discussed Scientific Research and Innovation in Research Centers in the Arab Region, in addition to a specialized lecture entitled “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Scientific Research and Innovation,” which explored the growing role of artificial intelligence technologies in advancing scientific research methodologies, data analysis, knowledge management, and accelerating innovation. On the sidelines of the conference, Prof. Dr. Mahdi Abadi Manea held a number of scientific meetings and discussions with researchers, leaders of research centers, and representatives of participating international institutions to explore opportunities for cooperation, exchange expertise, and develop joint research projects in artificial intelligence, scientific publishing, research performance analysis, academic rankings, and capacity building. This participation reflects the active scientific and research presence of Prof. Dr. Mahdi Abadi Manea in Arab and international scientific forums.
