Al-Mustaqbal University has achieved a new academic and environmental milestone by advancing to 148th place globally in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings for sustainable universities for 2026, continuing its distinguished presence in international rankings concerned with sustainability and the quality of institutional performance. The university scored 8,475 points, advancing to first place among private universities and colleges in Iraq, while ranking third among Iraqi public and private universities, in addition to achieving 82nd place in Asia, within an international competition in which 2,016 universities from 110 countries around the world participated. This achievement reflects Al-Mustaqbal University's ongoing attention to sustainability and institutional transformation, through the implementation of programs and initiatives aligned with the criteria of the UI GreenMetric ranking, particularly setting and infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste management, water resources, sustainable transportation, education and scientific research, as well as governance and digital transformation. This progress comes as the fruit of the university's continuous efforts to entrench the concepts of sustainability within its educational and research environment, and to promote practices that contribute to building a more efficient and sustainable campus, in line with its orientations toward achieving an effective academic and institutional presence in international forums and rankings. This achievement affirms Al-Mustaqbal University's continued consolidation of its approach based on sustainability, innovation, and impact-making, and its pursuit of developing its university environment and its academic and research programs in a way that enhances its standing among higher education institutions at both the local and international levels.
