On the occasion of World Tourism Day, the Department of Archaeology at the College of Arts and Humanities, Al-Mustaqbal University, organized a scientific visit to the ancient city of Borsippa on Sunday, September 27, 2026, with the participation of a number of the department’s faculty members and students. The visit aimed to take advantage of this global occasion to enhance awareness of the importance of archaeological and cultural tourism, introduce Iraq’s archaeological sites and their rich and ancient cultural heritage, and highlight their role in supporting cultural tourism and promoting greater interest in the country’s civilizational heritage. The visit included a field tour to explore the most prominent archaeological landmarks of the ancient city of Borsippa and learn about their historical and cultural significance. This contributed to strengthening the students’ practical knowledge and linking academic learning with direct observation and field study.
