The Head of the Department of Physical Therapy Techniques at Al-Mustaqbal University participated in the training workshop organized by the Delegation of the European Union to Iraq, in cooperation with the Department of International and Arab Organizations at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The workshop focused on institutional capacity building and enhancing the utilization of European Union programs and opportunities under the Erasmus+ Programme. It was hosted by Al-Mustaqbal University on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, and will continue for three days, with the participation of a number of public and private universities from the Middle Euphrates region. The workshop was attended by Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University; Professor Dr. Mowaffaq Saçet, Director of the Department of International and Arab Organizations at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research; and Ms. Asmaa Al-Somadi, Project Manager at the Erasmus+ National Office in Jordan, along with a number of cultural relations directors, Erasmus+ coordinators, college deans, department heads, and academic staff from the participating universities. The participation of the Head of the Department of Physical Therapy Techniques reflects Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to involving its academic staff in international programs and activities and benefiting from the expertise and experiences associated with European Union programs. This contributes to developing academic and institutional capacities and creating new opportunities for scientific and research cooperation. The workshop addressed several topics related to the Erasmus+ Programme, particularly grant application mechanisms, academic project development, application requirements, and the cooperation and funding opportunities provided by the programme. It also provided an opportunity to exchange expertise and explore mechanisms for building academic partnerships and networks among universities and educational institutions. The workshop emphasized the importance of strengthening the participation of Iraqi universities in international academic cooperation programs, enabling academic and administrative staff to develop their skills in preparing international projects and benefit from the funding and cooperation opportunities offered by European programs.
