The Dean of the College of Engineering Technologies, Professor Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abdul, received in his office the Head of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate – Babylon Branch, Professor Dr. Mushtaq Talib Al-Khafaji, in the presence of Professor Dr. Haider Al-Jubouri. The official visit aimed to strengthen cooperation frameworks and further develop the educational and professional environment at the College. The meeting featured an intensive agenda focusing on the ongoing preparations for the new academic year and ensuring all necessary requirements are in place to maintain the quality and academic rigor of the educational process while providing the best possible environment for students and teaching staff. Key Areas Discussed: Strengthening the Academic Role of the Syndicate: Discussing ways to actively involve the Syndicate in the College’s Advisory Council and expert committees, benefiting from academic expertise in curriculum development and updating academic plans. Building Stronger Links with the Labor Market: Expanding partnerships with local institutions, companies, and the private sector to align engineering technology education outcomes with actual labor-market needs, while providing graduates with practical training and professional development opportunities. Organizing Scientific Activities and Workshops: Agreeing to organize joint scientific activities, workshops, and seminars aimed at developing students’ skills, serving the community, and supporting various state institutions. Supporting Teaching Staff: Emphasizing the protection of academics’ rights and supporting their scientific and research contributions. At the conclusion of the visit, both sides affirmed their commitment to continued coordination and joint fieldwork to achieve the highest standards of academic quality and performance.
