Times Higher Education (THE) has selected Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, as a keynote speaker at the THE Arab Universities Summit 2026, organized by Times Higher Education in partnership with Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) in Ben Guerir, Kingdom of Morocco, from 3 to 5 November 2026. Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi will participate in a high-level panel discussion entitled “The Role of Universities in Accelerating the Clean Energy Transition,” scheduled for 4 November 2026. The session is part of a summit program that brings together university leaders, experts, researchers, and representatives from various sectors to discuss the future of higher education and its role in addressing economic, societal, and environmental challenges across the Arab region. The session will address strategic themes related to the role of universities and research institutions in supporting sustainable development, advancing research and innovation in clean and renewable energy, developing scientific and technological solutions, and strengthening the capacity of higher education institutions to respond to environmental and climate-related transformations. As part of his participation, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University will also attend the Presidents’ Roundtable, a closed-door roundtable bringing together higher education leaders to discuss strategic issues related to the future of universities and the alignment of higher education outcomes with labor market needs amid accelerating economic, environmental, and technological transformations. The participation takes place within a summit that brings together prominent higher education leaders and experts from across the Arab region to explore ways of advancing higher education systems and enhancing the impact of universities in addressing regional challenges through applied scientific research, technology, innovation, and expanded academic partnerships.
