Coinciding with World Cleanup Day, the Sustainable Development Division at Al-Mustaqbal University organized a volunteer campaign to clean the university campus and care for its facilities and green spaces on Sunday, September 20, 2026. The initiative aimed to promote a culture of cleanliness and shared responsibility while raising awareness of the importance of maintaining a healthy, safe, and sustainable university environment. The campaign witnessed active participation from the College of Agricultural Technologies, represented by the Dean of the College, along with a number of faculty members and staff. The campaign also included the participation of the Assistant Deans of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, who took part in the field activities, including cleaning and caring for the green spaces and campus facilities. This participation reflects the spirit of teamwork and institutional responsibility and demonstrates the commitment of the university’s colleges and various academic and administrative units to transforming sustainability concepts from theoretical principles into practical initiatives that contribute to enhancing the university environment and promoting positive practices among students and staff. During the campaign, participants emphasized that maintaining a clean university environment should not be limited to a specific occasion or activity, but rather should be embraced as a daily behavior and a community culture that begins with the individual and extends to society as a whole. They also stressed that preserving the university campus is a shared responsibility that contributes to providing a healthy educational environment that encourages learning, creativity, and excellence. The initiative is part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s ongoing efforts to support environmental sustainability and promote practices aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, and Goal 15: Life on Land. The campaign concluded with an emphasis on the importance of continuing environmental and volunteer initiatives and encouraging students and university staff to actively participate in protecting the environment and preserving the beauty of the university campus. This reflects Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to building a sustainable educational environment and fostering environmental awareness as an essential component of its social responsibility.
