University of Al-Mustaqbal commenced the 2026–2027 academic year on Sunday, 20 September 2026, by holding the Iraqi Flag-Raising Ceremony, in accordance with the official ministerial schedule marking the beginning of the new academic year. The ceremony was attended by the President of University of Al-Mustaqbal, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majid, the Assistant Presidents for Scientific and Administrative Affairs, the Director of the University Affairs Department, as well as college deans and their assistants, alongside a number of academic staff and employees. The ceremony reflected a strong sense of national identity, commitment, and discipline within the university environment. The ceremony was held in accordance with the ministerial directives for the opening of the academic year, contributing to the promotion of citizenship, belonging, and national awareness among university students. It also emphasized the importance of beginning the academic year with a spirit of responsibility and dedication. The University of Al-Mustaqbal Scout Team conducted the flag-raising ceremony under the supervision of the Scout Activities Division within the Central Student Activities Department.
