Al-Mustaqbal University Enhances the English Language Skills of Its Students and Graduates through an International Partnership with OHLA Institute

As part of its commitment to expanding international partnerships and enhancing academic and professional development opportunities for its students and graduates, Al-Mustaqbal University held a virtual meeting attended by Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, with representatives of the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in the United States of America and OHLA Institute, a global strategic partner in the field of TOEFL/ETS testing, to explore prospects for cooperation in developing language and academic skills. The discussions focused on the possibility of designing and implementing specialized training programs aimed at improving the English language proficiency of students and graduates in alignment with their academic and professional needs, while providing them with broader opportunities for higher education and employment in international environments. The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision at Al-Mustaqbal University; Dr. Hussein Al-Sheikh, representative of the Iraqi Cultural Attaché; and Dr. Alaa Shaker, alongside representatives of OHLA Institute, Jenny Nevin, Mahsa Tavakoli, and Karen Gahramaniants. The meeting also included Prof. Dr. Wael Al-Nadawee, Director of the Continuing Education Center, together with several staff members from the Center and the University Presidency, including Tabarak Hassan, Ali Jassim, and Elaf Al-Khafaji. Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi emphasized that this cooperation represents an important step toward empowering students and graduates with the English language skills required to advance their academic and professional careers. He noted that the proposed training programs would be designed according to participants’ needs, offering multiple pathways, including preparation for the TOEFL examination, development of English communication skills for business purposes, and preparation for students seeking to pursue postgraduate studies at international universities and educational institutions. The meeting also addressed mechanisms for joint cooperation between Al-Mustaqbal University and OHLA Institute, with the aim of providing specialized and flexible training programs that accommodate participants’ varying proficiency levels and objectives, while benefiting from international expertise in English language education and skills development in accordance with internationally recognized standards. This collaboration forms part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s strategy to strengthen its international presence, provide high-quality opportunities for academic and professional development, and enhance the readiness of its students and graduates to engage in global academic and professional environments.
