Al-Mustaqbal University College of Law Holds Awareness Seminar on the Risks of Drugs and Their Impact on Individuals and Society
The College of Law at Al-Mustaqbal University held an awareness seminar on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, entitled “Drugs Steal Your Future… Don’t Open the Door to Them,” delivered by Assistant Lecturer Weam Fadhil Obaid. The seminar aimed to raise awareness of the risks of drugs and reduce their negative effects on individuals, families, and society, while highlighting the health, psychological, social, and legal consequences associated with drug use.
The seminar addressed the main causes behind the spread of drug abuse and ways to prevent it, with a focus on enhancing awareness among young people and university students, encouraging them to adopt positive behaviors, and avoid bad company and environments that may lead to drug use. It also emphasized the role of community awareness in reducing the spread of this phenomenon and the importance of equipping students with sufficient knowledge of the risks associated with drug use and its potential impact on their lives and future.
The seminar emphasized that prevention and awareness represent the first line of defense against drugs, and that building a safe society and a stable future for young people requires integrated efforts among families, educational institutions, and the wider community. The seminar concluded by emphasizing the importance of avoiding anything that could lead to drug use and promoting a culture of responsibility and awareness, as drugs do not provide a path to success but rather threaten a person’s health, life, and future.
