As part of the ongoing regular meetings, the Dean of the Engineering Technical College, Prof. Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd, held an expanded meeting on Sunday, September 13, 2026, in the presence of the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Essam Mohi Mohammed, along with all Heads of the Scientific Departments, to follow up on the progress of the educational process and discuss the academic and logistical issues included in the agenda.
The meeting reviewed the current status of the scientific departments and their plans for the new academic year, in addition to discussing a number of academic, administrative, and logistical matters related to the development of the educational process.
The Head of the Department of Aircraft and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Engineering delivered a specialized scientific presentation on the uses of nanomaterials and their advanced applications in the manufacturing and development of aircraft structures. The presentation included explanatory data on the properties of halloysite nanotubes, supported by images from Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), as well as a discussion of their surface chemistry and several related scientific topics.
The meeting concluded by emphasizing the importance of continuing efforts to enhance academic performance and support applied research. The Dean commended the efforts of the Heads of Departments and the teaching and research staff, stressing the need to improve performance and achieve the highest standards of comprehensive quality across the college.
This meeting aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by supporting educational quality and developing academic and research performance. It also contributes to Sustainable Development Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) through supporting applied research and innovation in nanomaterials and their engineering applications.
