Al-Mustaqbal University strengthened its partnerships with private-sector institutions by signing a cooperation agreement with Akad Gate Company for Training, Qualification, and Employment of the Iraqi Workforce. The agreement aims to develop the skills of students and graduates, enhance their professional readiness, and better align university education outcomes with the requirements of the labour market.
The agreement seeks to establish an integrated framework for cooperation between the two parties through the implementation of training, scientific, and practical programmes, as well as the organisation of specialised workshops and joint seminars. These initiatives are intended to develop students’ and graduates’ professional and soft skills and enhance their ability to apply academic knowledge effectively in diverse work environments.
The areas of cooperation also include supporting training and professional development opportunities and developing programmes and activities that respond to labour-market needs. This will provide students and graduates with broader opportunities to gain practical experience, understand the requirements of emerging professions, and strengthen their readiness to enter the labour market with greater competence and competitiveness.
Professor Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, represented Al-Mustaqbal University at the signing ceremony, in the presence of Dr. Samir Badrawi, Director of the Department of Cultural and International Relations, and Professor Dr. Iman Abdul Aziz, Director of the Qualification, Employment, and Follow-up Division.
Akad Gate Company was represented by Ms. Jinan Adel Makki, Managing Director, in the presence of Mr. Mustafa Jalil, Director of Research and Development, and Mr. Mohammed Saad from the Media Department.
This agreement forms part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s efforts to strengthen integration between the academic institution and the employment and production sectors, bridging the gap between academic knowledge and practical skills while responding to the evolving needs of the labour market.
The partnership also contributes to preparing qualified university graduates equipped with the knowledge and skills required for effective integration into the labour market and active participation in economic and social development. It is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
