As part of strengthening academic and scientific cooperation among Iraqi universities, Professor Dr. Anis Ali Hassan, Head of the Medical Physics Department at the College of Science – Almustaqbal University, participated as a member of the committee for the discussion of a PhD thesis submitted by researcher Anwar Ahmed Fadhil at the College of Science – University of Babylon.
The thesis was entitled:
“Study of Radioactivity in Brick Samples from the Middle Euphrates Provinces of Iraq”
The thesis investigated radioactivity levels in brick samples collected from several provinces in the Middle Euphrates region of Iraq, using radiometric measurement and analysis techniques. It also assessed the potential radiological risks associated with these building materials.
The study results indicated that the measured levels of radioactivity and the associated radiological risks were within internationally accepted permissible limits, supporting the radiological safety of these materials according to relevant international standards and recommendations for radiation protection.
This scientific participation reflects Almustaqbal University’s commitment to supporting its academic staff and encouraging their active engagement in scientific and research activities. It also contributes to strengthening scientific cooperation and the exchange of expertise among Iraqi universities, thereby supporting the advancement of higher education and scientific research, promoting sustainable development, and contributing to national objectives in the scientific and health sectors.
