As part of its efforts to strengthen international academic cooperation and develop students’ skills, and within the framework of the Academic Communication Program, a delegation from Almustaqbal University, headed by Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of the University, visited the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in London. The delegation met with H.E. Prof. Dr. Saleh Hussein Ali Al-Tamimi, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom. The academic delegation included Prof. Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd, Dean of the College of Engineering Technologies, along with Prof. Dr. Qusay Al-Ahmadi, Cultural Counselor in London, and Dr. Wissam Al-Furaihi, Head of the Expatriates Affairs File at the Embassy, in addition to a number of students participating in the training program. During the meeting, the delegation presented Almustaqbal University’s experience in sending students from various scientific disciplines to the United Kingdom to participate in advanced summer training programs held at a number of British universities and academic institutions, including the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol). The training experience covered a range of modern scientific and technological fields, particularly Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and emerging technologies, contributing to the development of students’ scientific and practical skills, enhancing their academic experience, and preparing them to meet the requirements of the labor market and keep pace with rapid global developments. The meeting also addressed opportunities for expanding academic partnerships between Iraqi universities and their British counterparts, exchanging scientific and research expertise, and creating further opportunities for students and academic staff to benefit from the educational resources and expertise available at British universities. For his part, H.E. Prof. Dr. Saleh Hussein Ali Al-Tamimi, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom, praised this distinguished academic initiative, affirming the Embassy’s and the Iraqi Cultural Attaché’s support for initiatives aimed at developing the capabilities of Iraqi students and strengthening their engagement with leading international educational and research institutions. This initiative reflects Almustaqbal University’s vision of providing its students with an advanced educational environment, broadening their exposure to international academic experiences, and connecting university education with modern applications and future needs.
