President of Al-Mustaqbal University Explores Cutting-Edge AI and Advanced Technology Research at Bristol Robotics Laboratory

Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, conducted an extensive field tour at the Bristol Robotics Laboratory (BRL) at the University of West England (UWE Bristol). The visit aimed to explore the latest scientific research and innovative technologies developed by postgraduate students and researchers in collaboration with major international companies and institutions. Key Highlights and Technologies Covered During the Tour: Healthcare Robots and Smart Living: Visited the Personalised Assisted Living Studio to review advanced applications of assistive robots, home care, and service robotics aimed at supporting the health sector and the elderly. Autonomous Driving Systems and Smart Vehicles: Inspected specialized research projects focused on developing autonomous vehicle technologies and independent systems (such as the VENTURER project) implemented in partnership with major industrial firms. Advanced Manufacturing and Robotic Arms: Explored cutting-edge research in hybrid 3D printing and smart manufacturing using giant industrial robotic arms (KUKA Robots). Interaction and AI Research: Reviewed field research conducted by postgraduate students and institutions involving quadruped robots and interactive humanoid robots (Pepper & PAL Humanoid Robots), focusing on the integration of artificial intelligence into perception and autonomous movement. During the tour, the University President emphasized the importance of engaging with global research centers like BRL to transfer knowledge, localize advanced technologies, and provide a pioneering research environment for postgraduate students and researchers at Al-Mustaqbal University.
